Local testbeds and their resources
The FIBRE Testbed is a federation of local testbeds (a.k.a. “islands”).
A typical Island is compoused of at least:
- 01 Switch Top of Rack

- Remote Management support – mandatory
- SNMPv2 enabled – mandatory
- 4094 VLANs – mandatory
- Q-in-Q support – mandatory
- Desirable
- Selective Q-in-Q support
- OpenFlow 1.0 support
- 01 Virtualization Server

- 2x Intel Xeon E5-2630 (2.3GHz,15M)
- 64GB Memory (8x 8GB)
- 4x Hard Disk 1TB SATA
- At least 03 Network Interfaces 1Gbps
- 02 OpenFlows Switches or 01 OpenFlow Switch with 02 virtual switches
Some Islands might have extra experimentation equipments, like wireless nodes or IoT devices.
